A Natural Next Step

AURELIAN WITHIN began in Worthing, and Worthing will remain our home. It is where the idea first took shape, where our in-person 1:1 conversations are based, and where our current events and meet-ups are centred. But as AURELIAN WITHIN has developed, it has become increasingly clear that the need for a calm, confidential space for men does not stop at the edge of one town. Expanding our reach across West Sussex feels less like a change of direction and more like the natural next step in what we have already started.

Reaching Beyond Worthing

Recently, we have received enquiries from men living further afield within West Sussex. That has been important for us to see. It shows that what AURELIAN WITHIN offers is relevant beyond our immediate local community, and that there are men across the county looking for somewhere to talk openly without judgement, pressure or expectation. Those enquiries have encouraged us to make our wider reach much clearer and to ensure that men outside Worthing know that AURELIAN WITHIN is there for them too.

Worthing Remains Our Home

Although our reach is expanding, Worthing remains the physical base of AURELIAN WITHIN. In-person 1:1 conversations will continue to take place here, and our current events will remain focused around Worthing and the surrounding area. That local foundation is important to us. AURELIAN WITHIN was created here, it has grown here, and we want to continue building genuine community around the place we call home while opening the door more clearly to men from across West Sussex.

Supporting Men Across West Sussex

Our wider focus now includes men from across the county, whether you are in Shoreham, Lancing, Littlehampton, Arundel, Chichester, Horsham, Crawley, Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill or anywhere in between. If travelling to Worthing is practical, you are welcome to arrange an in-person conversation. If it is not, support is also available by telephone or video call, making it possible to connect wherever you are in West Sussex.

The Same Support, Just a Wider Reach

What AURELIAN WITHIN offers is not changing. We remain a free, confidential and volunteer-run men’s wellbeing initiative. We are not a therapy service, and we are not here to diagnose, fix or tell anyone how to live their life. Sometimes what a man needs most is simply somewhere he can speak honestly and be heard. That remains at the heart of everything we do. The only difference is that we are now making it clear that this support is available to men across West Sussex, not just those living in Worthing.

Building a Wider Community

Over time, we would like AURELIAN WITHIN to become something that connects men across a much wider part of West Sussex. That may mean more conversations, more connections and, as things develop naturally, opportunities to bring people together through walks, sea dips, grounding sessions and other simple shared experiences. There is no need to force that growth. The focus remains on keeping things genuine, accessible and human, while allowing the community around AURELIAN WITHIN to develop at its own pace.

If you are a man living anywhere in West Sussex and feel that you could benefit from talking to someone, AURELIAN WITHIN is open to you. You do not need to be in crisis, and you do not need to have the right words prepared. Whether that conversation happens face-to-face in Worthing, over the telephone or by video call, the starting point is simply reaching out.
